Mahnomen City Council Looks at City Hall Improvements
By Mark Askelson (4/19/17)
Mahnomen, MN -- The Mahnomen City Council received a presentation at their regular council meeting held on Monday night in regards to a feasibility study conducted on the Mahnomen City Hall building. The feasibility study was done so that the council could assess the necessary repairs and updates needed to bring the building, built in 1937, up to modern standards and codes. Mahnomen City Administrator Mitch Berg says overall it’s in pretty good shape, but will need some accessibility updates and roof repairs.
According to the feasibility study, the complete list of updates and repairs needed would run more than $300,000. Administrator Berg says they would likely tackle a few projects at a time and look for grants to help cover the costs.
The cost to do the Feasibility Study was covered in part by a grant from the Minnesota Historical Society.
