Mahnomen City Council News & Notes from May 15th Meeting
By Mark Askelson (5/17/17)
Mahnomen, MN -- The Mahnomen City Council held their 2nd monthly meeting on Monday night this week. Over the last several months, the City of Mahnomen has been in the process of negotiating and rezoning a piece of property in the industrial park so that it can be sold to the White Earth tribe for a head start facility. Mahnomen City Administrator Mitch Berg says the council finalized the sale during this week’s meeting.
The Mahnomen City Council reviewed and approved their 2016 financial audit with a representative from Brady, Martz, and Associates. Administrator Berg says the audit came back favorable.
This council also went into a closed session to continue moving forward with selling the Trautner property to a potential new business development.
When and if the deal is accepted, the name of the business moving to Mahnomen will become public. Administrator Berg also once again cautions drivers and residents to be cautious and exercise patience with the several construction projects that are underway in the city.
