Legislators Running Out of Time to Reach Agreement with Governor
By Mark Askelson (5/17/17)
St. Paul, MN -- The feud between the Republican controlled House and Senate and Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton is in full force just days before the end of the legislative session. The Democratic Governor has vetoed all of the House and Senate budget bills so far, but talks and negotiations are underway and hopefully a compromise can be made before the session runs of time. Dayton would like see more emphasis on spending, especially in education, and the Republicans would like to see tax breaks, according to District 4B Representative Paul Marquart.
The Minnesota State Legislature comes to end at Midnight on Monday, May 22nd. Representative Marquart joins the Kaleidoscope program each Friday at 9am.
