Ada-Borup School Board Takes Pick at Pairing Options; Sends to NCW for Approval
By Mark Askelson (5/18/17)
Ada, MN -- The Ada-Borup School Board has agreed to pair with Norman County West for Football, Volleyball, Girls Basketball, and Speech, and will send their proposal off to the Norman County West School Board for their approval on Monday morning. This comes after the Minnesota High School said just a few days ago that they would approve a football co-op for the districts, despite it being so late in the spring. Ada-Borup Superintendent Dr. Shawn Yates talked about the board’s decision on Thursday morning.
Under the Ada-Borup School Board proposal, all paired sports, including existing ones, would be under the Ada-Borup/Norman County West Cougar name and would wear the red and black colors, according to Yates.
Many of the minor details would still have to be worked out, but Yates says they’ll leave that up the district’s Activities Directors to figure those out.
The Norman County West School Board will meet on Monday morning at 7am to vote on whether or not to approve Ada-Borup’s pairing proposal.
In other news from Thursday morning’s special meeting, the Ada-Borup School Board accepted the resignation of 4th grade teacher Jordan Snow and paraprofessional Dana Skansgaard.
