(Brainerd, MN) — The Crow Wing County Landfill will be making the move to their winter hours of operation starting November 1st.
The landfill will be open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with Summer hours resuming in April 2021. Even as COVID-19 continues, to ensure everyone’s safety all customers bringing material to the landfill for disposal must remain in their vehicles. Landfill staff will come out of the main office to assist customers if needed.
Customers must also stop at the landfill office and speak with the attendant to discuss the items to be disposed of, pay any fees, and receive directions to the proper drop-off locations. All loads coming to the landfill must be covered, and uncovered loads are subject to a $5 fee.
The Crow Wing County Landfill continues to properly dispose of the following items for free or a nominal fee including: recycling of lead-acid car/marine batteries, used oil filters, motor oil, and antifreeze, compost of lawn and garden material, demolition materials, large appliances, electronics, tires with or without rims, scrap metals, glass, and plastic cans.
Also, with the Winter Hours for the Landfill, Household Hazardous Waste will be open only for emergency situations by appointment only. Schedule an appointment, contact the Land Services Department located at the Landfill at 218-824-1290. Be sure also visit www.crowwing.us.
