Mahnomen, MN — While trick-or-treaters can still go door-to-door in the Mahnomen community this Halloween. The Mahnomen Tribal Community Council and various community partners are teaming up this Saturday for a Trunk-or-Treat on Main Street in Mahnomen. The socially distant, sugar-filled activity will take place from 4pm to 6pm and will encourage good COVID behaviors, according to Mahnomen City Administrator Mitch Berg.
For more information on the Mahnomen Trunk-or-Treat, visit the Mahnomen Tribal Community Council on Facebook.
For those who are going door-to-door, there may be a number of houses that do not want to participate in Halloween this year. Berg recommends those residents make it obvious whether or not they welcome those trick-or-treaters.
The CDC does have a number of guidelines to make Halloween safer this year. As far as Trick-or-Treating goes, they recommend:
- Avoid direct contact with trick-or-treaters.
- Give out treats outdoors, if possible.
- Set up a station with individually bagged treats for kids to take.
- Wash hands before handling treats.
- Wear a mask.
