Two from Norman County Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident near Georgetown

Two people were killed in a head on crash near Georgetown on Wednesday evening. The incident happened on Highway 75 near 200th Ave NW at approximately 8:18pm. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2002 Ford Expedition, driven by 49 year old Tamara Green of Halstad, was traveling northbound when a southbound 2002 Ford F-150, driven by 45 year old Nathan Thompson of Ada, crossed over into the northbound lane, striking the Expedition. Both Green and Thompson were killed in the accident. A passenger in the Expedition, 74 year old Joann Johnson of Neilsville, sustained non-life threatening injuries. Thompson was not wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol was not a factor in the incident. Road conditions were dry at the time.
Norman County Sheriff’s Office, Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Ada, Harwood, and Felton Fire Department all assisted on scene.
