Brainerd Mayor Updates on New Trail, Garbage Ordinance from November 16 Council Meeting
The city of Brainerd held a regular council meeting on Monday, November 16, so we spoke with Mayor Dave Badeaux about the items that were discussed.
Badeaux said it was a short meeting. During the meeting, the city secured federal funding for a new trail on the south side of Highway 25. The overall purpose of the trail will be to connect some other trails to larger trails in the area.
Another key agenda item that was discussed was the approval of a new garbage ordinance, which will take effect on November 25. Badeaux described the ordinance and the thought process behind it.
Lastly, the council continued its ongoing discussion surrounding the children’s museum and the possibility of its relocation; Badeaux said that the conversation would be continued at the park board level.
We thank Mayor Badeaux for his time. The next regular council meeting for the city of Brainerd is scheduled for December 7. Our full interview with Badeaux may be found below.
