Catching up with Olivia Lane
We catch up with another former area athlete competing on the stage of Division I athletics, talking with Olivia Lane. The former Pequot Lakes Patriot is in her sophomore season on the women’s basketball team at North Dakota. She first talks about the offseason with COVID.
Lane told us about the excitement to begin full team activities and practice to prepare for the season that has just begun.
This year’s Fighting Hawks have only six combined seniors and juniors, and Lane talked about the keys to gelling with a young group.
Unfortunately for Lane, she is currently out due to an injury, the second time in two seasons she has started out of commission.
After appearing in 25 of the 30 games in her freshman season with averaging 6 points and over 4 rebounds per game, prior to the injury, Lane tells us what she was focusing on to have a better sophomore year.
In addition to the excitement of returning to the court, there was even more exciting news for Olivia this summer when she learned younger sister Erika, a senior at Brainerd, committed to the Fighting Hawks.
We thank Olivia for her time and with her the best. Hear more with the full interview.
