Aitkin School Board Work Session reviews land purchase, updates Capital Projects Levy

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin Public School Board held a Work Session meeting Monday night with the District looking into the future plans relating to land and the Capital Projects Levy from the Aitkin High School Media Center. 

Superintendent Dan Stifter opened discussion on land purchase review from the District’s previous Referendum back in 2016, for the potential of a new school site.

No formal action was taken on the land purchase, the discussion served more of an opportunity to revisit the possibility of a new building. Superintendent Stifter also spoke about reductions to help compensate operating funds after the 2020-21 school year. 

Stifter also presented options about hiring a firm to help assist with the Capital Projects Levy for marketing to the community.

The Board also discussed Superintendent Evaluation with Dan Stifter now over a year into his position with the Aitkin School District. Stifter talked about his overall goals looking ahead.

The Aitkin Public School Board will have their regular meeting coming up on Monday, February 8th at 7pm from the Aitkin High School Media Center.
