Mahnomen City Council Begins Strategic Planning; Introduces Code Enforcement Officer
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council held their first meeting of the month on Monday night, February 1st via Zoom. At the meeting the council was introduced to the city’s new Code Enforcement Officer, Lance Henrickson. Henrickson will work on a part-time, on-call basis to help the city address and enforce code violations and nuisance issues, according to Mahnomen City Administrator Mitch Berg.
The importance of having a designated Code Enforcement Officer, according to Berg, is that it allows him and others to focus on other important issues such as city finances, economic development, and housing needs of the city.
The Mahnomen City Council also had their first of four strategic and planning sessions, which Administrator Berg stated was more challenging than usual because they were doing it virtually instead of in-person.
The Mahnomen City Council will meet next on February 16th.
