Fosston Movie Theater Hosting Fundraiser for Mentor Playground This Saturday

Mentor, MN — The Fosston Movie Theater is showing a G-Rated family friendly movie this Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. to raise money for new equipment at the Mentor playground. The free will donation for admission into the movie will go directly towards the playground. Fundraising Coordinator Cecily McGlynn tells about the history of the current equipment.

In 2014 fundraising began for the new equipment with really no goal or timeline. Fundraising was started just to see how much interest there was to replace the equipment. The interest to raise money for a new playground has been enormous to say the least. McGlynn says they’ve had numerous events to try and now reach their goal.

During the first year of fundraising, enough money was raised to install brand new playground equipment for 2-5 year-old children and now fundraising is underway to add a new playground for 5-12 year-old children. The goal is to raise $75,000 and currently 88% of that goal has been raised.
