Mahnomen School Board News & Notes
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen School Board held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, March 8th. At the meeting, the board accepted the resignation of three of their paraprofessionals, which have already been in short supply this year. Mahnomen Superintendent Jeff Bisek says they’ll move forward with posting those positions and try to get them filled as soon as possible.
The Mahnomen School Board also is in the process of seeking out an architectural firm as the district looks to make more upgrades to the facilities to adapt to then “new normal” post COVID, according to Superintendent Bisek.
And the board got an update on some of things happening in the legislature as there has been a lot happening at both the state and federal level. At state level, Bisek says there is lot relating to education policy worth keeping an eye on.
At the federal level, Superintendent Bisek says the big item is the latest stimulus package, which could provide additional funding sources for schools as well.
The Mahnomen School Board meets on the 2nd Monday of each month.
