Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting of the month Monday evening at the main Street Community Center, as opposed to the last few lively meetings the commission has, this one was much quieter. Mayor of Hillsboro Terry Sando said it was nice to get back to regularly scheduled city business. During the meeting the commission approved some maintenance items for the armory with the Mayville State Child Development Program assisting with some of the costs, according to Sando.

The city also approved working with AE2S to update the cities GIS map, to include the cities New Riverwalk addition and Jordahl project. Sondo said the current maps are now out of date because they don’t include those developments.

Additionally, the commission approved the creation of an improvement district for the Riverwalk addition, Sando says this is another step in the project, and at the cities next commission meeting they can give the final approval for construction to begin.

Also, the commission approved a raise for City Auditor Ashley Frederick as she completed her six-month probationary employment. Sando said Frederick deserved the bump in pay and has been excelling in her position.

The city also approved the first week of May to be city cleanup week, garbage must be set out by Monday May 3rd to be collected. The next scheduled commission meeting will be Monday, April 5th at the Community Center.
