State Patrol Lt. Benz on Speed Enforcement, Aitkin County TZD
By Paul Vold firstname.lastname@example.org (3/19/21)
(Aitkin, MN) — Speed Enforcement and other traffic concerns highlighted the bulk of the conversation with Minnesota State Highway Patrol Lieutenant Keith Benz in the monthly update from the Aitkin County Toward Zero Deaths Coalition.
Lieutenant Benz spoke about need-to-know information about allowance of speed of the posted sign limits, especially on Highway 210 around the Aitkin area.
The State Patrol is also not immune to having to jump up in speed in the line of duty, so finding a balance while enforcing is what Patrolmen deal with on a regular basis.
From this past year, crashes did go up even with fewer cars on the road due to COVID-19 and self-isolation, Benz and the State Highway Patrol continue to look at the circumstances behind the increases.
DWI Saturations also did see increases over the past year based on the number of cars on the road.
