Climax-Shelly School Board News & Notes
Climax, MN — The Climax-Shelly School Board held their regular monthly meeting last week where they discussed staffing, approved business office upgrades, and more. The school board approved a quote from Christian’s Office Furniture of $7,100 for new furniture in the business office. Climax-Shelly Superintendent Michael Underwood says their current layout and furniture is inefficient and impractical for many of the needs of the office.
The Climax-Shelly School Board is looking to fill a number of positions in the district, including support staff and teaching positions. Superintendent Underwood says they’ve struggled this year finding candidates, especially for their support roles.
And Underwood reported that despite several quarantines and close contacts, the Climax-Shelly School District has yet to have a positive case of COVID-19 in building. He says there a number of factors that have helped them achieve the rare feat.
The Climax-Shelly School Board also approved hiring Katelyn Gunnafson as a new science teacher and accepted the resignation of 1st grade teacher Sydney Boom.
