March 30, 2021 News -- KKIN-KFGI-KLKS-WWWI 0

By Brainerd Elementary School Principals: Jim Conrad (Harrison), Sheila Eller (Riverside), Jodi Kennedy (Garfield), Molly Raske (Nisswa),Todd Sauer (Lowell), and Tammy Stellmach (Baxter)

On behalf of the teachers and staff in each of our elementary schools who are already thinking about and planning for next fall, we excitedly invite members of the class of 2034 and their parents/guardians to join us for Kindergarten Round Up on Wednesday, March 31 at Baxter, Garfield, Harrison, Lowell, Nisswa, and Riverside Elementary Schools.

To keep everyone safe and to follow the current safety protocols, attendance at Kindergarten Round Up is scheduled according to the child’s last name. The schedule is:

Last name A-G: 5:00-5:30 p.m.

Last name H-O: 5:30-6:00 p.m.

Last name P-Z: 6:00-6:30 p.m.

We ask that attendance be limited to the kindergartner-to-be and a maximum of two other people to avoid any overcrowding. Please note that all in attendance will need to wear a face covering.

Kindergarten Round Up is an important rite of passage for each student. It is an opportunity to check out the school building, meet the teachers, see the classrooms, climb on a school bus, talk with the school nurse, and test out the playground equipment.

Is your kindergartner-to-be not yet registered for school in the fall? Join us at Round Up and we will get you the paperwork! Are you considering open enrollment for your child? Come check us out! Do you and your future Brainerd Warrior have questions about school? Ask us anything! Are you wondering what your child should know how to do before his or her first day of school? We have information to share!

If you are unsure of which school your child will attend, check our website at www.isd181.org. Find Transportation under the Departments tab and click on the link to check your attendance zone. You can also call the Welcome Center at 218-454-6900 with any questions.

We hope to see every child in this community who is coming to kindergarten next fall at Kindergarten Round Up on March 31 to kick-off what we are confident will be a successful elementary school career.
