Baxter Council Discusses Storm Water, Walmart Expansion, and More from April 6 Meeting
(BAXTER, MN) — The city of Baxter held its first regular council meeting for the month of April on Tuesday, so we spoke with Mayor Darrel Olson to get caught up.
Olson first discussed the city’s storm water application permit, which he added is an important item to get solidified in time for the wet season.
The council also weighed its options regarding the stoplight and railroad crossing on Knollwood Drive. The city is considering moving those to the east for another intersection, but any potential action is still a couple of years out. In the meantime, public input will be collected.
Olson also mentioned an expansion coming to the Baxter Walmart in the form of a liquor store.
We thank Mayor Olson for his time. The city of Baxter will hold its next regular council meeting on April 20. Our full interview with Olson, in which he also mentioned new street lights being installed on Highway 210 and the approval of previously discussed road work on College Drive and Isle Drive, can be found below.
