Red Poppy Greenhouse Offers Spring Gardening Tips
Fosston, MN — The early spring has gardeners throughout the area itching to take advantage of the nice weather and till up the soil and get their gardens planted while the conditions are nice, but is it too early? Megan Palubicki with the Red Poppy Greenhouses in Fosston and Lake Park says when it comes to planting, it most certainly is. She adds that weather conditions can change quickly, so we have at least another month before we reach the optimal time.
For your perennial plants, Palubicki says we will likely still see the potential for freezing temperatures for awhile yet, so you should continue to keep them covered until it warms up for good.
In the meantime, Palubicki says you can keep yourself occupied by doing a little dirt work and preparing your containers.
The Red Poppy Greenhouses in Fosston and Lake Park are not open yet, Megan anticipates a reopening sometime in late April or early May.
