Fertile Special City Council Meeting Examines Golf Cart Ordinance
Fertile, MN — The Fertile City Council held a special city council meeting on Monday night, April 19th where they discussed some additional cemetery work, Senior banners, and most importantly, a proposed golf cart ordinance. The city of Fertile currently has an ordinance that pertains to use of ATVs, UTVs, and mini-truck use on city streets, but not golf carts, which are becoming more frequent for everyday use in addition to people going to and from the golf course. The ordinance that the city is planning to bring to a vote would require operators to be over the age of 16 and require all golf carts, ATVS, UTVS, and like vehicles to purchase an annual permit to be used on city streets, according to Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden.
A draft is expected to be presented at the May council meeting for discussion and public input and it’s expected to have it’s first public hearing at the June meeting.
Also at the meeting, Liden says the Fertile City Council approved conducting some additional cemetery work.
And the council discussed and approved once again supporting the school with their Senior banners around town.
