Mahnomen City Council Approves Fire Hall Remodel Bids
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council reviewed and awarded bids for the upcoming Fire Hall remodel project at their regular monthly meeting on Monday night. There were concerns that bids for the estimated $1.5 million dollar project would come in much higher due to high cost of constructions materials and because they only received two bids. However, Mahnomen City Administrator Mitch Berg says the council were relieved to discover that the low bid from Bradbury-Stamnn Construction came in right at their architect’s estimates.
Bradbury-Stamnn Construction is based out of New Mexico, but has a location in St. Cloud. Construction on the Fire Hall remodel is expected to get underway later this month and should be completed within 18 months.
Something that the city will be keeping an eye during the construction is the possibility of contaminated soil. However, Administrator Berg says even if that is the case it shouldn’t impact the city’s budget.
Administrator Berg also provides an update on the progress of the CIP water and sewer project.
The Mahnomen City Council meets next on May 17th.
