Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office Debut New Mobile Command Unit
Bagley, MN — The Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management Division recently unveiled their new high-tech mobile command center. It’s a 2009 Thomas 84-passenger bus that was purchased last year and retrofitted into a mobile command post. The bus will serve a variety of purposes for the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office and will replace their camper trailer that they’ve been using for the last couple decades, according to Sheriff Darren Halverson.
Funding for the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Mobile Command Post came from the CARES Act funding from the Federal government last year and no local taxpayer dollars were used. Sheriff Halverson adds that “we are very grateful to the Clearwater County Commissioners who allowed this project to be completed” and “it will definitely be a great resource to for our office or other agencies within our county. The uses for this vehicle are endless.”
