Aitkin City Council set to meet Monday, May 17th

(Aitkin, MN) — An audit presentation and updates on funding for city projects highlight the Aitkin City Council meeting for Monday, May 17th.

The Council will be looking to approve a resolution for authorization to Execute MnDOT Grant, an agreement for Federal Airport Expense Reimbursement, and 2021 Liquor License Renewals.

City Administrator Rose Beverly will present information on IRRRB Grants, totaling $225,000 for 2021 Projects and $19,7000 for Demo costs associated with Block North Brew Pub Expansion Project. Bolton and Menk will present the design for the Creamery Lot.

Old Business will feature a DNR Grant Contract for the Hockey Rink/PickleBall Court.

The Council will also hear from Mary Reedy CliftonLarsonAllen on the City’s Audit, discussion will also take place on the Aitkin Fire Department Pension, and approval of a new hire for the Aitkin Police Department will also take place. A resolution on Giving Authorization to Use $300 from the Park Fund to Open a new Bremer Savings Account for Park Donations will be up for approval and Street Commissioner Bob Nicko’s retirement letter will be discussed.

Loren Solberg and Jon Eisele of Enbridge will also speak to the Council on the Line 3 pipeline work. 

The Aitkin City Council meets Monday night at 6pm from the Community Room of the Aitkin Public Library.
