Hillsboro Stars & Stripes Program Continues to Grow
Hillsboro, ND — Patriotism will be well on display in the city of Hillsboro this Memorial Day and handful of other dates this year again courtesy of the Hillsboro Stars and Stripes program. Each year for just $35, a local nonprofit group will place and remove an American Flag on your boulevard for holidays such as a Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, and events of local significance such as Hillsboro Days. This is the second year of Stars and Stripes, which saw great success in the inaugural year in 2020. This year will see a growth of around 120 flags, bringing the total to flags on display to around 500. Paul Geray with Hillsboro Stars and Stripes says in addition to Memorial Day, they will also be putting the flags up for graduation next weekend.
The money raised by Stars and Stripes goes directly back to the local service groups who volunteer to put up and take down the flags. Geray says those volunteers are the heart and soul of the program.
There is still time to sign up to participate in the Hillsboro Stars and Stripes program this year. Contact Paul at 701-636-4444 for more information.
