Ada Legion & VFW Seeking Volunteers for Avenue of Flags this Memorial Day Weekend
Ada, MN — The Ada American Legion and VFW are hoping to continue it’s longstanding tradition of displaying their Avenue of Flags this Memorial Day weekend, a tradition that was put on hold in 2020 because of the pandemic. The Legion is seeking at least 25 people to help put out on the 440 small flags and 203 large flags on Saturday morning and take them down. Norman County Veteran’s Services Officer John Rosenberger says it’s a great way to show your support for our fallen veterans and encourages community members to consider volunteering their time.
If you would like to assist with the Avenue of Flags, please show up this Saturday, May 29th at 9am and/or on Monday, May 31st at 6pm.
The Ada American Legion and VFW will also be hosting a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 31st at 9:30am at the Ada Municipal Cemetery Gazebo. Please bring a lawn chair for your own comfort, or you can also listen to the service on 106.5 KRJB or watch it online at www.yourliveevent.com.
