Mahnomen City Council Selects Interim City Administrator
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council has selected Kari Kirshbaum to fill in as Interim City Administrator while they begin the search for a full-time replacement. Kirshbaum, the former Gary Mayor and current Chair of the Norman County EDA, will temporarily take over for the outgoing Administrator Mitch Berg. Berg, who recommended Kirschbaum to the council, talks more about her background and her role as Interim City Administrator.
Kirschbaum will begin immediately. As far as the search for the next permanent City Administrator, Berg says the Mahnomen City Council will be using an Executive Recruiter, or “head hunter” as they are commonly referred to, to seek out and find potential candidates.
Berg is leaving in June to start a new role as Associate Director of the Veden Center for Rural Engagement and Economic Development at the University of Minnesota-Crookston.
