State Park passes available at East Central Regional Libraries

(Aitkin, MN) — The East Central Regional Library is now offering free, 7-day vehicle passes to any of the 75 state parks and recreation areas in Minnesota.
Branches in Aitkin, Kanabec, Mille Lacs, and Pine counties can now allow patrons ages 18 and older with an active library account to check out a Minnesota State Parks Library pass thanks to a new program from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
Once the park pass is checked out, the expiration date will be written on a receipt attached to the pass for display in the patron’s vehicle dashboard. After the pass expires, it does not need to be returned and can be recycled.
Passes can be reserved online through the Aitkin, McGregor, Mora, Milaca, Mille Lacs/Isle, Princeton, Hinckley, Pine city, and Sandstone locations. The DNR selected libraries in counties where the median household income is less than $58,000 a year or where more than 40-percent of residents are enrolled in free and reduced-price lunch.
More information can be found on the East Central Regional Library website.
