Hillsboro School Board News & Notes from June 14th Meeting
Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro School Board held their regular monthly board meeting on Monday morning, June 14th. At the meeting, the board had a presentation from ICON Architectural Group, a company that has designed and planned a number of school and facility expansions and renovations throughout North Dakota and the upper Midwest. While the Hillsboro School District may not be ready for an expansion yet, Superintendent Paula Suda says they wanted to get a head start as they predict growth with the housing development getting underway.
Superintendent Suda provided an update to the board on the ESSER funding and how it’s being utilized.
A number of staffing items were approved this week as well, including the resignation of the Assistant Girl’s Basketball coach and number of new hires.
And the Hillsboro School Board approved a second reading of their policy relating to school board elections and terms of office, according to Suda.
School Board election results were officially canvassed this week as well. Incumbents Mary Mattson and Kris Brekken ran unopposed and were reelected. The Hillsboro School Board also approved a 3% increase for Administration and Classified Salaries and approved the Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Service Plans.
