Mahnomen School Board News & Notes from June 14th Meeting
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen School Board held their regular monthly board meeting on Monday, June 16th. With the start of the 2021-2022 school year beginning in July, the board approved their preliminary budget for next year. Mahnomen Superintendent Jeff Bisek says as of now next year’s budget looks to be in good shape.
And as they transition in-between the school years, the board handled a number of staffing items this week, including new hires and resignations.
The Mahnomen School Board also approved posting for a Curriculum and Student Support Director, which Superintendent Bisek says is a new position to assist with learning loss post-pandemic.
And as the pandemic is ending, Bisek notes that the board officially rescinded their mask mandate.
The Mahnomen School Board also finalized teacher’s contract negotiations for next year as well.
