Aitkin City Council to review Street Project changes, American Rescue Plan funds at June 21st meeting

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin City Council will review their plans for funds from the American Rescue Plan and upcoming changes to the Street Reconstruction Project as they meet at 6pm tonight from the Aitkin Public Library Community Room.
The Council will be seeking approval for a street closure request for American Legion Post #86 during Aitkin Riverboat Days and a resolution to Authorize & Accept IRRRB funds for a project at the location of 227 Pacific Street SE.
City Administrator Rose Beverly will present to the Council on the date for the 1st REgular Council Meeting in July.
New Business will include a resolution to Accept the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund Established under the American Rescue Plan. A special event permit for a Family Fun Day for the New Life Church will also be up for Council approval. For the Street Reconstruction Project, Bolton and Menk will be presented change orders of sanitary sewer service pipe material, buried concrete slab was discovered along GuidePoint Pharmacy, and exploratory performed to verify elevations and pipe materials will be up for Council consideration. A pay application of $314,324.11 for the Street Project will also be included.
The Aitkin City Council meets at 6pm from the Aitkin Public Library Community Room.
