Hillsboro, ND — The Hillsboro City Commission held their 2nd regular monthly meeting on Monday night, June 21st. At the meeting the commission had discussions about the annual fireworks show that take place over the 4th of July. Given the current dry conditions, it may not be safe to have fireworks this year. The commission did set in place a backup plan in the event conditions are unsafe come Independence Day, according to Hillsboro City Commission President Terry Sando.

The City of Hillsboro filled the city pool this week at Woodlawn Park and is hoping to open by the end of the week. However, Sando says they are still in desperate need of lifeguards.

If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard, please contact Hillsboro City Hall.

Also this week it was made known that the Armory custodian would be retiring. Sando says they discussed how they will fill those duties moving forward.

And the commission heard from the public on some concerns about aging street signs as well.

The Hillsboro City Commission also had the first reading of their new Brew Pub Ordinance.
