Mahnomen City Administrator Moves on to New Job at UMC
Mahnomen, MN — Mahnomen City Administrator Mitch Berg had his last day on Wednesday before moving on to his position at the University of Minnesota-Crookston Veden Center for Economic Development. Berg was with the city of Mahnomen for nearly 20 years in two different stints. He says he’s going to miss working with and for the people in the community and making sure that the city was being ran properly.
Berg adds that he’s also very proud of some of the many things he and the council were able to accomplish during his tenure, specifically the millions of dollars in economic development.
Berg hopes to carry over that same focus on Economic Development in his venture as the Associate Director of the Veden Center at UMC.
Former Gary Mayor Kari Kirschbaum is currently filling in as the Mahnomen Interim City Administrator for the next few months while the Mahnomen City Council begins the hiring process for a full time replacement for Berg.
