Walleye fishing on Mille Lacs Lake opens July 16th

(Mille Lacs Lake, MN) — Walleye fishing on Mille Lacs Lakes returns to catch-and-release regulations on Friday, July 16th according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
The two-week walleye fishing closure remains in place until Thursday, July 15th while all other species are open for angling. Catch-and-release walleye fishing will continue through Wednesday, September 15th.
Harvesting walleye reopens Thursday, September 16th and continues through Tuesday, November 30th with regulations including keeping a limit of one walleye from 21-23 inches, or one over 28 inches.
Fishing hours on Mille Lacs are 6am-10pm, but during the late season beginning September 16th, anglers will be allowed to fish from 6am-midnight.
