Ada-Borup-West School Board Holds First Meeting as New District
Ada, MN — The Ada-Borup-West School Board held their first ever meeting as a new district on Tuesday morning. As part of that was the election of officers for the new board. Mick Thompson was elected Chair, Gretchen Rockstad elected Vice Chair, Nancy Merkens as Clark, and Lucas Spaeth as Treasurer. Ada-Borup-West Superintendent Aaron Cook says this has been a smooth transition and it was a good first meeting.
With the new name will come some updates to the building. Superintendent Cook says students and parents will notice new signage going up around the building over time and will be included in the building project, which continues to make good progress.
Also at this week’s board meeting, Elementary Principal Bree Triplett reported that their summer school opportunities have been going well and dozens of kids have been getting extra help this summer, according to Cook.
The Ada-Borup-West School Board also approved the annual milk, fuel and bread bids, approved the Long-Term Facilities Maintenance Plan, and set the annual price list and admissions schedule. Superintendent Aaron Cook and Faye Delong are scheduled to join the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program this Thursday at 9am to further recap this week’s meeting.
