Missoula Children’s Theatre Returns to Ada Next Week; Auditions Monday for Emperor’s New Clothes
Ada, MN — The Ada Summer Children’s Theater welcome youth in grades 1st-12th to audition for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of The Emperor’s New Clothes. Auditions will take place on Monday, August 2nd at 9am at the Ada-Borup High School Auditorium. Roughly 50-60 local students will be cast to appear in the show for a variety of roles including the Emperor, ManyPenny and the Money Council, the Royal Scholars Roxy and Red, Kings and Queens, Gem and the Royal Jewelers, and number of others. GG Solseng of the Ada Summer Children’s Theater says auditions will last a couple hours and they will get rolling on rehearsals right after.
The auditorium will be closed during the auditions, but parents or guardians are welcome to wait in the commons area while the children audition.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre is a touring production that is complete with costumes, scenery, props, and makeup, according to Solseng.
Solseng adds that whether its your first try at theatre or you’ve been doing your entire life, there are roles for all abilities and ages.
There will be two performances of their production of The Emperor’s New Clothes on Friday, August 6th, one at 2:30pm and one at 7pm at the Ada-Borup High School.
This production is presented locally by the Ada Summer Children’s Theatre with sponsorship from area businesses and organizations as well as a grant through the Shock and Awe organization.
