Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council had their first regular monthly meeting for the month of August on Monday night. Current Interim City Administrator Kari Kirschbaum says so far they have a good field of candidates and will get that narrowed down over the next couple months.

Kirshbaum also reported on her recent participation at the Coalition of Greater MN Cities conference. She says some of the common areas of interest amongst greater Minnesota communities included childcare, parks, and mainstreet development.
And Wild Rice Day is being planned in the city of Mahnomen later this month. Kirschbaum says the council approved committing some funds to contribute to those activities.
