ISD 361 school board met for the requirement for masks
The ISD 361 school board met for their monthly meeting on Monday evening with the requirement for masks during the school year being on the agenda and an Overflow crowd in attendance wishing to speak against the masking of their children during the open forum.
Hours prior to the meeting, Superintendent Kevin Grover posted this on the school website:
“People attending in person will be required to wear a mask (available at the door).”
After the meeting was called to order and the Pledge of Allegiance said„ acting board chair Jenn Windels made this announcement.
The meeting remained in recess for nearly 20 minutes and when the meeting was called to order, Windels made this announcement.
Most people in attendance for the meeting left at this point with some voicing their displeasure on their way out the door.
Items that were approved at the meeting included:
The acceptance of the resignation of head girls’ hockey coach, Michelle McDonald and subsequent hire of new head coach Erin Hall.
The acceptance of the resignation of assistant girls basketball coach, Steve Windels and subsequent hire of new assistant girls basketball coach, Amis MacKenzie.
The board approved a collective bargaining agreement with the Education Minnesota Educational Support Paraprofessionals for July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2023.
