Brainerd Mayor Talks Sesquicentennial Events, Informational Meetings, and More from August 16 Council Meeting
(BRAINERD, MN) — The city of Brainerd held its second regular council meeting of the month of August on Monday. We had our routine chat with Mayor Dave Badeaux to see how everything went.
The city heard from its cable TV advisory committee about a new partnership with Central Lakes College for public access TV.
There was also a conversation within the council regarding the potential for setting a new policy regarding street lights in the city.
One of the agenda items that drew the most attention, both in this meeting and in previous meetings, was the proposal for a conditional use permit for a private learning center in north Brainerd.
The city of Brainerd is celebrating its 150th anniversary, also referred to as its sesquicentennial, this year, and Badeaux mentioned that the slate of events for the celebration in September has been set.
Badeaux wrapped up our chat by acknowledging some public feedback on the way the city has handled informational meetings and providing his input.
We thank Mayor Badeaux for his time. The city of Brainerd will hold its next regular council meeting on September 7. Our full conversation with Badeaux can be found below.
