Norwegian Softball, Bed Races, and More Return for Annual Flom Farm Fest
Flom, MN — Fling to Flom this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for the annual Flom Farm Fest, which returns after a one-year hiatus. Many of the traditional Flom Farm Fest events will return, such as the parade, bean bag tournament, pork chop dinner, pancake breakfast, tractor display, car cruise, and more. There is also a couple of events that haven’t been on the schedule in recent years and are returning due to popular demand, one of those being Norwegian Softball. Norwegian Softball, for those who aren’t familiar, is essentially a backwards version of the game, according to Christina Lien of the Flom Community Club.
And after the parade on Saturday, Lien says they are bringing back the Bed Races. Like Norwegian Softball it inspires some creative strategies, impromptu fun, and lots of laughs.
Enjoy plenty of live music at this year’s Flom Farm Fest as well, including Michael Pink, who will perform Friday from 8-Midnight at County Road 38, The Family Circle Band, performing Saturday from 3-6pm on the Patio, and Whiskey Creek Band, who will perform at the Flom Hall Saturday night from 9pm until 1am.
Throughout the past two decades Flom Farm Fest has been known to drawn in large crowds. Despite its small population, Lien says its geographic location makes it a community hub for gathering.
