Aitkin County Board hears Department Budget Presentations during August 24th meeting

(Aitkin, MN) — The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners sat through Department Budget Presentations for 2022 during their regular meeting from Tuesday, August 24th at the Aitkin County Government Center Board Room.

The Board did approve a Large Assembly License to White Pine Logging, a resolution for the Airport Improvement Project, MHFA Grant for Lakes & Pines CAC, the Unorganized Township Levies for 2022, a transfer of ACSWCD Appropriations. 

Aitkin County Sheriff Dan Guida presented the Sheriff’s Office 2022 Budget, as his office is looking at multiple areas to generate revenue for the coming year.

The Board did approve resolutions for Great River Energy Land Sale over in Kimberly Township and reappointed the County Surveyor Position to Randy Quayle. County Engineer John Welle presented the Highway Department’s preliminary 2022 Budget. 

Welle also covered the Highway Department’s Capital Equipment/Facilities, and Capital Infrastructure budgets. Commissioners also approved the Facility Improvement resolution for updating the Highway Department’s Security Gate. County Administrator Jessica Seibert, speaking on behalf of Human Resources Director Bobbie Danielson, on Highway Department Job Reclassifications. 

The Board did approve the reclassifications for Office Assistant V, Equipment Operator Grade 5, Mechanic Grade 5, Chief Mechanic Grade 6, Engineering Technician Grade 6, and Senior Engineering Technician Grade 8.

The Aitkin County Board of Commissioners will be having another Committee of the Whole meeting on Tuesday, August 31st before their next regular meeting Tuesday, September 14th at 9am.
