(Aitkin, MN) — With students back for the first full week of school, we chatted with Aitkin County Public Health Supervisor Erin Melz about the latest concerns with COVID and the Delta variants, while also chatting about the mitigation efforts and case positive rates.
Melz noted that weeks leading up to the start of school, COVID case rates have been on the rise with the Delta variant.
Keeping track of the rise of COVID positive case rates has also included transmission rates with the variants also impacting those who have or have not been vaccinated.
Aitkin County currently is experiencing high rates of transmission.
Melz did mention one of the notable factors in the transmission rate.
