City of Brainerd Begins Conversations on Preliminary Levy, Parking Changes in September 7 Council Meeting

(BRAINERD, MN) — The city of Brainerd held its first regular council meeting of the month of September on Tuesday, so we had our usual chat with Mayor Dave Badeaux to hear about what was discussed.

Badeaux said it was a relatively light meeting, but an important agreement was set regarding the Mississippi Landing Trail Head.

There was also a conversation at a recent workshop with city staff about the preliminary levy, and talks will begin to heat up on that soon.

The council heard an update from its parking commission, and Badeaux talked about some of the changes that could be coming city-wide in the not-too-distant future.

Badeaux also briefly touched on the city sending some firefighters down to Louisiana to aid in relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Ida.

Finally, Badeaux recognized the city’s Community Member of the Month.
