Run With Your Canine Companion During the Dog Days Run/Walk Saturday Morning in Ada
Ada, MN — Cap off the Dog Days of Summer by leashing up your furry friend for the Dog Days Run/Walk on Saturday morning in Ada as part of the annual Fun in the Flatlands. The run begins at 8am at West Side Park with registration opening at 7:30am. No worries if you don’t have a canine companion as you don’t need a dog to participate. The cost is $5 per human and $10 per dog with a maximum of $25 per family. Proceeds will benefit the Ada-Borup-West Booster Club and Ada-Borup-West Cross Country Team. Coach Spencer Ruebke encourages runners and walkers of all abilities to come be a part of this unique new event.
Registrants will receive a doggy pup ice cream treat, dog days magnet, dog days collar tag, and refreshments at the finish line. There are a few rules for those who are participating with dogs. Dog must be:
- Old enough to be around other dogs and people (at least 6 months of age)
- Able to walk 2 miles
- Able to do well on-leash and is not overly aggressive toward other dogs
- Friendly toward humans and not excessively fearful
- Able to mix with a crowd
- Up to date on vaccinations
It’ll be a busy weekend for the Ada-Borup-West Cross Country Team, including Coach Ruebke, who the night before will be running in the annual Twilight Run at MSUM.
