4th annual Vern Wehage Golf Classic this Friday

(Aitkin, MN) — The 4th annual Vern Wehage Golf Classic to benefit the Aitkin County Law Enforcement Benevolent Association will be back this Friday at Cuyuna Rolling Hills Golf Course in Deerwood to help honor those who protect and serve and their families.

We spoke with ACLEBA President and Aitkin County Sheriff Deputy Sergeant Greg Payment about the Golf Classic this Friday.

Sgt. Payment also spoke about the background of the Benevolent Association, which came to be after the passing of a local officer.

After touching on the background of Aitkin County Law Enforcement officers that have been lost in the line of duty, the Benevolent Association took it upon themselves to memorialize them.

The Wehage Golf Classic is the marquee fundraiser but donations will be accepted anytime.
