Fertile, MN — The Fertile City Council held their regular monthly meeting on Monday night, September 9th. At the meeting they discussed their 2022 budget and set the preliminary levy. Looking forward to next year, the main added expenditure will be some updates to the Community Center, according to Fertile City Administrator Lisa Liden.

Also this week the council reevaluated last month’s decision to replace their skating rink boards with fiberglass boards. After further review, Administrator Liden says they’re going to play it safe and go with the more affordable plywood option.

The city of Fertile is also looking at improving their access road to the sewer ponds to accommodate larger equipment, according to Liden.

And the council approved a pay application and a change order for the airport runway project, according to Liden.

The Fertile City Council also approved a final pay application for their 2019/2020 projects, approved allowing their Public Works Director to assist the City of Erskine with water checks, and approved their 2022 Health Insurance.
