(Mille Lacs Lake, MN) — Walleye anglers on Mille Lacs Lake will be able to harvest once again through the Fall season.
Thursday, September 16th reopened walleye harvest after being close to catch-and-release during the two week stretch of the early portion of September.
Harvest limits do include one walleye from 21-23 inches, or one over 28 inches. Those regulations will stay in effect through Tuesday, November 30th.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources reminds anglers that the changes to night fishing are also in effect currently. Fishing hours on Mille Lacs will be 6am-midnight for all species, a two-hour extension from current hours. Muskellunge and northern pike anglers using artificial lures or sucker minnows longer than 8 inches will be allowed to fish during the midnight-am night closure.
The Mille Lacs Lake Fishing Regulations are available on the DNR’s website.
