FSA Report for September 23rd

Red Lake County, Minnesota – Harvest season is here, which means plenty of farmers in the area are looking to see what their crops will yield after a summer with harsh drought conditions. Gary Schommer spoke about FSA’s Farm Loan Program with direct and guaranteed loan programs in the weekly report and how they have been kept busy due to this harvest season. With the new fiscal year for 2022 coming up on October 1st, the loan programs will see an increase in funds.

October 1st will also be the day for FSA to complete another round of the farm loan county realignment. Schommer says Red Lake County borrowers and new applicants will now be serviced out of the Pennington County FSA office.

The loan analysis and renewal season is coming up as well. Keep communication up with lenders at the FSA offices. Another way to stay updated is to keep an eye on the farmers.gov website for loan information, COVID assistance programs and more.
