By: Mary Balstad email@example.com
Minnesota – Farm Loan Officer Julie Kolodji gave the weekly FSA update on Thursday, October 14th. With last Tuesday, the 12th, being National Farmer’s Day, Kolodji paid respects to farmers across the country for the hard work they accomplish year round. The benefits from farming are numerous, but Kolodji covers a few prime examples of how producers assisted in building the Untied States of America.
After talking about the farmers of the past, Kolodji then spoke on the future of farming in America. With programs like FFA and 4-H in schools and communities, education on farming is possible for many children interested in the profession. There is also finanacial support through FSA’s Youth Loan Program.
A few examples of how loan funds can be used include purchasing livestock or poultry, seed feed and farm equipment and supplies. More information on the Youth Loan Program can be found at fsa.usda.gov.
