Halstad, MN — A new community fund has now been established to support charitable, educational, and public purpose projects and programs, activities, and services that improve the quality of life of the residents and visitors of western Norman County, including the communities of Halstad, Hendrum, Perley, and Shelly. The Western Norman Community Fund is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation and is now accepting tax-deductible donations, according to committee member Bjorn Solberg.

The Western Norman Community Fund already has one project in the works that they plan to support. Solberg says they are launching an initiative to install school bus shelters in each town in western Norman County.

In the next 10 years, Solberg says they have a lofty goal of having as much as $500,000 in their general fund to use towards community project grants and hes encourage community members to consider giving.
