Norman-Mahnomen Public Health Hosting Walk-In COVID-19 Booster Shot Clinics

Twin Valley, MN — Norman-Mahnomen Public Health will be holding a series of WALK IN (no appointment required) Moderna booster dose clinics in the coming week, starting with one today (Wednesday, October 27th) from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at the Twin Valley Community Center for those individuals who fall into the high-risk categories and are six months past their second dose.
CDC recommendations for booster doses are:
• 65 years and older
• Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
• Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
• Age 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings
Sarah Kjono says the Norman-Mahnomen Public Health says there’s a lot of discrepancy as to the underlying medical conditions and high-risk settings, so they are asking community members to determine if they feel they meet the requirements.
Kjono adds that those who do not receive the Booster Shot are still considered fully vaccinated, but the booster shot will help boost your immunity against COVID-19, which is important heading into the winter and holiday seasons.
Vaccines for those in the age 5 to 11 age group could be available sometime in early November.
Kjono notes while there are still high numbers of positive COVID-19 cases every day in the area, they are some signs pointing towards a downward trend soon.
Norman-Mahnomen Public Health is planning additional COVID-19 booster dose clinics in the near future as well. Walk-in Booster clinics are also scheduled for this Thursday, October 27th from 3pm to 6pm at the Ada Event Center, Monday, November 1st from 1pm-4pm at the Halstad LRC, and again Wednesday, November 3rd from 3-6pm at the Twin Valley Community Center.
Please bring your mask and vaccination card to the clinics.
